Facial Collagen Induction Through Microneedling
Are you ready for the most natural way to repair your skin?
Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) improves and reinvigorates damaged and ageing skin by harnessing your body’s natural ability to repair itself. We use the non invasive techniques of medical grade microneedling to create micro injuries to the skin. These tiny micro injuries then stimulates the release of your body’s own growth factors to trigger the production of new collagen & elastin, revealing your fresher, younger self.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling creates a series of predictable, controlled epidermal micro-injuries that stimulates the body’s immune response to produce new collagen and elastin. Our microneedling techniques are used in combination with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Concentrated Growth Factors (CGF), or Hyaluronic Acid (HA) to hydrate and re-epithelialize the skin. Our techniques work with the body’s own natural rejuvenation processes, which creates smoother, more youthful skin. Prepare to meet your younger looking self with our medical grade collagen induction treatments today!
What type of results will I see?
- Reduced signs of ageing
- Improvements in the appearance of acne scarring
- Reduction in the appearance of pigmentation
- Regeneration of collagen to support sagging skin
- Increased collagen and elastin production to improve the natural function and appearance of skin
- Strengthening of the natural defence barrier of skin against the external environment
How long is each treatment appointment?
Collagen Induction appointments are usually 30 to 45 minutes. For your comfort, we offer the option of complimentary topical anaesthetic, which adds on 20 minutes to the appointment.
How many treatments will I need?
For more dramatic and longer lasting results, we generally recommend 4 to 6 appointments. Each person’s skin conditions are different and require differing levels of treatment. The number of treatments recommended for you will be determined by your skin goals (i.e. erase visible pigmentation) and also by the health of your skin. After your treatment, you will have the option to discuss a maintenance plan to sustain your results.
When should I expect to see visible results?
Visible results are most noticeable between 5 to 8 weeks after your treatment. However, one of the most exciting things about this treatment is that your results will continue to improve over the next 12 months as the new collagen and elastin settles, strengthens and rejuvenates your skin from within. Results will vary from person to person, but to give your skin the best results, the correct skincare routine at home prior to your course of Collagen Induction is vital.
What is the downtime and what side effects should I expect?
Immediately after the treatment your skin will most likely be red and flushed, very similar in appearance to a mild sunburn. You may also experience tightness in your skin and slight sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will reduce over the following few hours after your treatment and will have completely subsided by the next day. You may experience slight redness for a few days post-treatment. Your skin is likely to feel a little dry and be flaky in some areas 3 to 5 days after your treatment. This is due to the fast cellular turn over after your treatment – let your old skin cells peel away naturally to reveal the new you.
Can I wear makeup after my treatment?
You can start your normal makeup regimen again the day after your Collagen Induction treatment. We generally recommend for you not to apply any makeup for a minimum of 24 hours for optimal results from the treatment.
