Metropolitan Patients
Dental Subsidy Scheme

Through several initiatives, such as the Metropolitan Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme (MPDSS), the Dental Health Services (DHS) makes subsidised general and emergency dental care available to financially or geographically disadvantaged people.

What is the Metropolitan Patients Dental Subsidy Scheme?

When funding allows, the MPDSS allows eligible patients in the metropolitan region who are on a public dental waiting list and have been contacted by DHS to receive non-urgent subsidised general dental care at participating private dental practices.

At Ellen Stirling Dental, we extend our dental expertise to assist patients with health care cards to have their dental treatment done right here in Ellenbrook while still retaining the same level of cost contribution from the government’s Dental Health Services. Some conditions do apply, so don’t hesitate to contact us at (08) 6192 1036 for more information.

How Does the MPDSS Works

If you live in a metropolitan area, DHS will send you a letter for an appointment at your nearest public dental clinic or a voucher for a private dental practice participating in the program.

The cost of your therapy will vary based on what you need. The West Australian Government will fund your care up to a maximum of 75% of your total bill, with no co-payments or payment plans necessary for those treatments initially covered by our program. On the other hand, other services may be available at an additional fee if deemed necessary during a consultation with one of our dentists so that you receive what works best for you and your budget. Before you receive treatment, our staff will discuss co-payments and payment plan options with you.

Contact Dental Health Services at 9313 0555 or visit their website at www.dental.wa.gov.au for more information about this scheme. You must inform us at the time of booking if you are using this scheme to get dental care at Ellen Stirling Dental.
